Benjamin Heller is a cross-disciplinary artist and photographer based in New York City. His work explores the connections and resonance between the movement of the body, transformation and the power of the physical world. More focused on transformation than documentation, he has an active process of entering the action from the inside; beginning an improvisation with the subject or environment. His projects seek to create images and environments with a self-contained narrative that sparks our imagination within the stillness of a single moment. Art can create a place to be, somewhere to fall into; a space to disappear into in order to fully emerge. The image or space becomes a world in itself in which life happens from the inside out.
